We want to help this Halloween be just as special. Regardless of it is the normal trick or treating or fall carnivals that we all enjoy...(sometimes). Depends on how cranky the kids are the day after. But we are earning with good students habits, good sibling actions and various other reasons...that mom makes up.... ghost tickets to spend at our very own fall halloween party. Each actitiviy is worth so many tickets just like at carnvials and we are earning away and counting down.

Creative WritingLittle did I know that my skills organizing preschool and developing lesson would come in handy. This year has been unkind with our expectations but we have learned to overcome and grow. One of the ways that we have been growing is in our education of our children. Our amazing now secound grader (yes I am holding back tears...he grew so fast during our college learning years) hates writing. Certain circumstances have left us with homeschooling and it has been a great way to help him develop a tolerance...hehe....of writing. So without much more lecturing. Here are some helpful ways that I found to great that writers spark of imagination. 1. Let them pick the topic Duh! Doing homeschooling allowed for me to do this. It was the first step into getting him to even try writing. He was in total control and could use his artistic ability to illistrate it to his hearts desire. 2. Comic Book Quote Boxes When getting him introduced to writing a narrative, I decided to take it a step at a time. Introducing this idea worked perfectly with comic book quotes. He didn't like the idea of writing what the characters where saying, To him it was more work. But then the small little boxes didn't seem overwhemling and his creation came forth....haha. In the comming weeks we are going to be selling a haunted house to help us work on adjectives in our writing. And also creating our very own spooky story to firm up our adjectives and also plots or story sequencing. I made some organizers that will help us gather our thoughts before we write and we are sharing them below! Also including our regular organizer that has helped us in organizing our papers and thoughts.
With spring in the air our hearts are drawn outdoors, yet the change in the season reminds me of how much work we need to get done. With so much that goes on in the spring and summer months I decided to create worksheet to help us review all the letters that we have learned so far, so we don't forget them :) One of our favorite ways to learn our letters is through themes. This is a great way to introduce letters and make associations with things they know and to explore things that they don't. There are many ways to teach and this is the easiest way for me as a mom to stay organized and plan ahead. Here are links to all the letter post we have done so far: Letter F (Four of July Theme) Letter P (All things P) Letter I (Ice cream) Letter H (Health) Letter W (Weather) Letter S (Snow) Letter B (Bugs) Free Worksheets!
