The leaves are turning their beautiful gold and red. My stomach is craving all things pumpkin, and cinnamon and rosemary (not all together mind you). With being frugal in all things during graduate school, sometimes that mean doing projects ahead of time. Gathering supplies for a costume for example one piece at a time using a 40% off coupon from stores like Hobby Lobby, Michael and Joanns. Using Walmart for spray paint and glue sticks if you like me seem to run out of these often. When your kindergartner wants to be a spider for halloween, you might need supplies that you don't normally have around the house. For this costume idea I followed Bloglovin tutorial but added my own flair! I used the following: 2 Fuzzy bendable garland or even black insulator foam tubes would work: for the legs (see picture below) One fuzzy hair like square piece: to put on the box for the Tarantula look (see picture below) A flat box (collected from recycle bin): for the leg to go through and to strap on their back Black elastic: these are arm straps Black spray paint: to paint the box Black winter hat: for those many spider eyes Brown yarn: we used this to make it more Tarantula look Glue Gun: to glue the googling eyes on the hat Googling eyes Scissors The things I bought are in bold and added up to a final cost of: $7 What else: I add my kiddo dress in a black pants and a black jacket. We don't trick or treat in the dark hours so I am not worried about the all dark outfit.
Poking the black elastic into a hole and securing it on the other side using a button. Which happened to say the word "woof". (see picture above to see what it looks like inside the box) But you could tie a big knot to secure it too, so you don't have to use a needle and thread.
Finished look and you didn't even have to break out a needle and thread. Okay maybe you did to attached buttons to secure the arm straps.
