Nothing can add up more quickly than laundry at our house. I seemed to do a load or two every day. Add in potty training and the loads seemed to triple. I knew that I needed clothes that held up to hard play, the first time I took my son to the play ground. He totally went part monkey. Hanging on the equipment and throwing wood chips up in the air. Yep, sigh. I need clothes that could hold up to all the washing that I have to do.
My Favorites Online or at the store: Children's place (better deals online) Carters online and in store Kolhs- both online and in store JCPenny online- with store pick up Crazy 8 I never pay for anything with out a promo code. Also waiting for that extra precent off on clearance with a promo code means super $$$$ savings! Promo codes can be found as easily as typing in the search bar. I have also found them in magazines and emails. Thrift Stores and Garage Sales Being on the look out for stains and holes is important. Baking soda and hydrogen peroxide works wonders on most stains but others just don't budge. Choose your battles, if it is worth the savings. What items do I spend more than $5 on: PJs-I LOVE the carter 4 piece set pjs sets. I try to wait until I can get them around where each pj would be around $7 a piece. These PJs hold up really well. My kids where them for a year and they are faded up not falling apart. Dresses-Little girls dresses can be hard to get under $5, but I have never spent more than $12 for one dress that I make sure the little lady wears over and over. Shoes- shoe sizes are hard to guess what they might be when the seasons change Winter Coats-I always buy these are clearance after the season and have never spent over $18 for a good (we live in the northwest cold) winter coat.
